Cape Town based cinematographer, Werner Maritz, has established himself in a class of his own as a very highly regarded Director of Photography, being represented locally and internationally. His unique style has been cultivated over the years, having shot well over 1000 local and international commercials. During his career Werner also worked on numerous Feature Films with Studios like Warner Brother, Tri Star and Columbia Sony Pictures.

Werner’s talents have continually been recognized through the awards he has been accredited with worldwide. He has previously won three Silver Loeries, two Special Achievement Best DOP Vuka Awards, Gold and Silver at Cannes, a Gold and Silver at the New York Film Festival.

Werner is versatile in handling Film and all Digital Formats. It is his style, which is his hallmark, his use of elegant light on contrasting textures manages to captivate an audience whether his subject is a BMW on the bridges of Chicago or a couple intimately dancing on a moonlit beach.
